Saying ❝ I Do ❞ To Color

Since the wedding season is upon us, my natural thought progression went to color. I was wondering, if I were to plan a wedding again, would I choose the same colors?

The dresses, styles and colors were so different 20 years ago when I got married to what is available now. It’s seems the styles are more streamline and modern. How many of you still have half a dozen of those brides maids dresses in your closet that you’ll never wear again? Look at this beautiful dress and the color is amazing! I certainly would wear this dress again and again and again.

Back in 1990, I went with black and white. It’s a timeless color combination and just about everyone looks good in these colors unlike the tutti frutti colors of some brides maids dresses back in the day.

Oddly enough, the only thing I would change would be the color of my dress. I’m really not a fan of white. I guess I protest it because there are so many gorgeous colors to choose from, why use white? I know white has it’s time and place, which is a whole other story but as far as weddings, I think I’d change it up a bit.

What’s this? A little splash of red on her stocking? How fun is that! I would definitely add an accent color on my dress somewhere. Look how beautiful this is!

I would even add some great color to my accessories but my flowers would remain white.

So to answer my own question, would I keep my wedding colors the same? Other then just adding an accent color to my dress, yes, I would keep it the same. How about you? Would you go for the latest color trends, stick with the classics or do it all over again and not change a thing?

  1. I love the colors of my 2nd (and final!) wedding-- colors of nature: shades of greens and blues. We got married at Lake Rabun and my dress was a strapless sage green. I wouldn't change a thing :).

  2. I like the classic white .... but would add hints of my fave colours to personalise things. That said, I absolutely love the combination B & W!

  3. One of my hobbies is entertaining different color and flower options for "my" wedding... If I weren't a designer, I would definitely be a wedding planner!!!
