Push Start Spring in Your Home With Garden Botanical Pillows

I don't know about you but Spring can't get here quick enough. My tulips and daffies are already popped, frozen but popped and the best part of it all - the birds. I know Spring is right around the corner when I see Robins - a lot of them!

There's no better way to push start the Spring feeling in your home than to start adding pops of pretty pillows. I love this Garden Botanical Prints from Pottery Barn

Charging Up Your Bedroom with the Right Color

They say that a bedroom has to be a subdued color in order for one to sleep and feel relaxed. We do know that's not 100% true right?

Keep in mind, once we close our eyes it doesn't matter what color the room is so you might was well make it beautiful! I LOVE this color by Behr. It fun, youthful and just brings such a great energy to the bedroom. Energy to the bedroom you say? Do we need that? Well yes, we do.

As we “recharge” and retire in our bedrooms at night, it's also a time for our minds to be reset. I don't know about you but I get some amazing ideas and I lie in bed doing nothing. As the body rests the mind recharges. This color, which is Lemon Grass 400B-7 by the way, will help you do that.

Such a great color to change the energy in your bedroom. Try it and feel recharged in the morning.

New Colors for 2016 - show me the green please!

I'm always thinking about colors and which direction they will be going towards for the home. I was looking at my logo here that I designed a really long time ago and love the colors. I loved them then and even more so now. Why? Because of that green!

Just yesterday, I posted my thoughts on the colors that should be up and coming for 2016-17 because Color Marketing Group is about to release their palette. Here's the graphic I designed that captures the look I love.

The darker green is showing up muddier than I'd like it to. I like the green that is my logo which is a cross between the mint green in my graphic and the green in my logo. Anyway - I'm sticking with green.

So those are my thoughts for today! Don't forget to visit my main blog at www.DecoratingbyDonna.com

Progression. Moving forward with color

Seeing the same hues over and over again?

Sure they're great colors but too much of a good thing is not good - expect for ice cream of course! For me, the design world is flooded with blue and gray. Are they pretty colors? Of course! As a Color Expert is it frustrating to see the same colors being used over and over again. Yes. :-(

So what does this mean for the world of color? Does it mean that I will refuse to use blue and gray for my clients? No, of course not. It's just frustrating to me to see this two colors sticking around for oh so long with out pairing up with someone new - that someone meaning another color of course.
