Choosing Color for A Bungalow in Midwood Plaza in Charlotte

Love Bungalows? Look in the Midwood Plaza area of Charlotte and you'll see plenty!

If you're from Charlotte than you are very family with the Midwood Plaza area of town, you know, it's right by Midwood Smokehosue which is amazing and will certainly give Mac's Speed Shop a run for their money. Both great places to eat.

I'm not writing about food here today but would like to talk about the homes that you'll see when you're in the area of Midwood Plaza.

I very, very rarely get any AFTER pictures of any of my work so when I have a client that remembers to send me one, I'm thrilled!

Here is a new construction home in the Midwood area. The client, who also happens to be the builder, wanted a typical bungalow color palette for his home. He also wanted something a little “fun” for the younger people who would enjoy a different color palette for the home.

Here's how it went. As much as I would have loved to have chosen a purple and blue “fun” palette for this home, that would seriously limit the potential homeowners for this bungalow beauty. I say keep it classic and you can always have a little more personality with your indoor colors rather than getting a little crazy on the outside.

I chose a soft, creamy white for the trim which works really well with the subtle yellow on the top portion of the home. The brown-sage color for the bottom half of the home is the perfect partner for the yellow and also, will camouflage the lovely orange dirt that will eventually show up on the bottom of the house.

Isn't it cute? If this were my home I'd add some flower boxes where you can add all the color you want and would have extended the porch out enough to allow for two rockers. This is just a super cute home with a classic color palette to match.
