Can I use gray in a North facing room?

Greetings! I've really liked your advice. You present in simple terms that have given me that “aha” moment many times! 

You had some great examples of warm gray posted. I know that in a North facing room I should keep to warmer colors (I live in Minnesota). Should I avoid gray in this space?

I'm so glad you've found my blog helpful. That's what it's here for! Now about your “Northern Exposure”. You don't have to avoid grays just use warmer ones. The key is to warm up your colors to counteract a cool room.

COLOR TIP: 
Some of these grays are warm, some are cool, blue or even a bit green. The key to finding the right gray for your home is to work with the lighting you have.

• Sunny room? Use a cooler gray like SMOKE EMBERS
• Dark room? Use a lighter tint of gray perhaps like HORIZON
• Have a lot of orange in the room? Use a bluer gray like SLEIGH BELLS
• Northern Exposure? Try a warm, light gray like LIGHT PEWTER. 

Not all rooms are meant to have gray in it but if you are a gray lover, than there are choices for you. Make sure you hold your paint samples vertically and sample out the color if you're really not sure.
