What are old fashioned colors?

credit

Do you have old color in your home?

What is old color? When we say “old color”, what comes to mind? A color that we would see in Grandma's house? Colors that would be seen in an old sofa? Colors that we don't like anymore? Colors that are not trending now? Yes to all of these questions but when we say “old color” are there are few that instantly pop into our minds? Of course and here are a few that I can think of.

These many not look typically “old” to you but the brown/blue and brown/green color combinations are a dated look - pretty - but at this point in color, dated.

I actually like this color combination however, it certainly can be updated by choosing the same hue's but just making them a little “brighter” and that will make all the difference in the world.

So it's ok to choose a color scheme from “back in the day” but try to stay in the 21st century and update it just a bit.

If you need help coming into 2011 with brighter colors, I'm a Color Specialist in Charlotte since 2007 and I'd love to help you.

  1. just from viewing these colors on your page, I can see that "new" colors are brighter and have more life to them. Down with drab. Let's live a little and brighten up the world!
