Donkey Tail for Your Bathroom

Am I allowed to say I love my own blog post?  I LOVE these colors! They are different, warm yet still cool, refreshing and just feel good colors. It's funny because this Donkey Tail plant is on my front porch and I admire it just about every day. So today, it's color inspiration for my virtual bathroom!

Always love the look of beach glass - it's a Long Island thing!

This reminds me of a Coke bottle.

Can you see the little blue specs?

No fancy towels, just great color.

One #1 pet peeve in a bathroom has to be the area rugs. It's rare to see a really pretty rug in a bathroom. Why does it have to be small and shaggy? I say your bathroom is just like any other room in the house but with a toilet. You wouldn't put a rubber backed, small shaggy rug in your bedroom would you? I hope not!

I would have to say peeve #2 is flooring. I really, really do NOT like tile flooring. It's just so cold and lifeless to me. Wood. Bringing the outdoors inside!

BR11, brushed textured, 8" wide plank, engineered wood flooring.

So there you have it. It I were to re-do my bathroom it probably would be something very similar to this. The only problem is that it wouldn't match ANYTHING in my home! I love living through my blog posts where I can choose any color under the sun, any product without worrying how much it costs and the ability to change it next week if I find something prettier. Isn't blogging the best?

  1. I want to put wood flooring in my master bathroom when we redo it. Good to hear some support for that!
I'm from Huntington, LI and I love those colors!

  2. I guess I should have said a laminate - you have to be really careful with wood in the bathroom. As much as I'm not a fan of laminates, some of them look pretty awesome.

I think Sarah Richardson decorates each bedroom on its own rather than using a color theme for the entire house. Maybe that's why her signature look is so cozy and fresh rather than "model homeish". Or maybe it's my untrained eye not recognizing the theme...ha!
