Wallpaper or Paint?

Having worked with wallpaper before, I must say that I am NOT a fan of wallpaper - no matter how pretty it is - ok, but these Schumacher wallcoverings are really pretty -

Since I started the “Hue 2 Have” which is basically 'Color of the Week' I'm going to have to side with PAINT (for oh so many reasons which will be another blog post). But … I'll throw in this Schumacher wall covering incase you side with wallpaper.

√ PAINT

√ WALLPAPER to match

In case you want BOTH wallpaper and paint, here are some other color options that would look perfect to match the wallpaper I have shown above.

Like these colors?
They're from the Benjamin Moore Classic fan deck
  1. Sweet Daphne 529
  2. Creekbed 1006
  3. Vale Mist 1494
  4. Mesa Peach 1200

  1. Wallpaper is nice if you have very simple, minimal furniture. I feel though that paint compliments a room much better overall :)

  2. As usual great information Donna. I also prefer paint over wallpaper however I have to say I LOVE Schumachers wallcoverings. I might have to cheat on paint just a little. :)

Also I wanted to let you know I gave you a little award on my blog. http://www.amindondesign.com/2011/01/award-for-me.html

    Congratulations!!

  3. @Erin - like anything else, paint included, if you have a product that is high in quality and apply it correctly with ALL the right tools then it will and can be beautiful. However for those people who use box store wallpaper, don't size and choose a dated pattern, they are in for a hideous surprise when they try to take that paper down. Hire a professional to help out or stick with paint - but it has to be the RIGHT color :-)

@Debbie - you what? Gave me an award? I'm coming over to your blog to see. You are so sweet and supportive on Facebook too. 1,000 thanks to you!!

  4. I'm in the process of redoing a master bedroom and I'm using wallpaper for the headboard wall. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Fun post!

  5. Great post! I really love paint (more than wallpaper) because I love change. Every now and then any room need a fresh paint anyways which motivates me to use a different color and change the look and feel of the room entirely!
