Art for Your Home

When thinking about choosing art for your home, I feel that original art work is the best. What I like to do is incorporate the color scheme of the room into the painting ensuring a perfect match. If you're unable to paint your own than look at the artwork of other artists. The reason I like original paintings (this does NOT include prints) is that's it's one of a kind art. If I'm going to spend money on artwork, I certainly don't want anyone else to have the same painting in their home. It's a good investment.

  1. I have been using record album art on one wall in my living room. The album cover frames allow me to pop in different albums and I sometimes get a theme going. I miss the full size record albums for the beautiful or strange art/photos that were on them. This way, I can appreciate them and change them out when I want something new to look at.

  2. Very, very cool idea Marie. I would have to scour some yard sales since I no longer have album covers. I don't think Rick James and Donna Summer will go with my decor and YES I just dated myself.

LoL -thank you so much. Come back soon!

  3. This is great advice, Donna, and one that I dish out often myself. There's so much fabulous original art out there and if you look hard enough you can find affordable original art, too. Nothing like it... literally. :)

  4. Originals are the best way to go. Paintings are great but don't forget about prints!

  6. Great tip about incorporating colors from art. Art can serve as the jumping-off point for a great color scheme.
