What Color Should I Paint My Kitchen, Foyer, Den and Living Room?

Virtual Color. The kitchen, foyer, den and living room are often shared by one main space. It's really crucial to make sure that the colors in these rooms relate and share the same undertone.

I get so many emails from clients asking for virtual color help I thought it would be nice to start posting them here so you can see how the process works. One of my clients asked me for color help with this area of her home. Let's see what her options are. Here's the email:

Hi Donna. My name is J*** H*******. I am currently renovating a kitchen and need some help with paint colors for the kitchen as well as my foyer, den and living room. Can you give me an idea as to how you work and how much you would charge for a consult?  Also, what is your availability like over the next few weeks?  Thanks in advance for your help.
J***

When I design color for an open concept space, I really need to "see" the rooms that the virtual client needs color for. I'll ask for a few high quality JPG's so I can visualize the space, see the lighting and get a feeling for the style or decor that the virtual client has.

Once the photographs are received, the color process can begin. J*** basically needs a color plan for the main rooms in the first floor. These colors all have relate, coordinate with her decor and share the same undertones.

I can't reveal the names of these colors because they are this color scheme belongs to the client. I can tell you that they are from the Concepts of Color fan deck by Sherwin-Williams. It's a small deck but some of my favorite Sherwin-Williams colors are in there.

Here's the color scheme for her first floor. Again, the graphic is showing much darker that the original colors but still are close enough to see and understand the direction of the color palette.
