Color Expert Donna Frasca Chooses Colors for Your Home … With Culture In Mind

As a Color Expert in Charlotte, I have to consider so many factors when entering my clients home. I have to consider the lighting, decor and what the client wants as far as look and style. 

Probably #1 on my list is to find out what culture they are. There are colors that I may think will be a winner but to them, may be the color that represents mourning. That would be a huge mistake!

So those color charts that say use yellow because it's a happy color or red in the dining room because it promotes eating - I throw them right out in my circular file (garbage can) because they are way to generic to use to choose color for a home. Are they helpful to get you pointed in a direction? Yes but there is so much more to consider that those charts and that's people. People.

I find out what colors are important to people first before I decide what will look amazing in their home. I'm not one of those Color Experts that come into your home with the latest and greatest blues for you to see and tell you that you need them in your home. Do I have them with me? Of course! But I let YOU tell me what YOU want before I suggest the perfect color for YOUR home.
