What gray looks good with Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams?

From the mailbox!

What do you think of Accessible Beige and Sea Salt as a combination?
Thanks!
Kate

Kate,
Accessible Beige may be too yellow to be paired up with Sea Salt. Both are great Sherwin Williams colors - Sea Salt is one of my favorites.

I would rather see Sea Salt as the dominant hue out of the two. Is there another gray that you're considering? I'd keep it light and crisp so Sea Salt stands out more similar to the chips I have below.

Try several grays along with Sea Salt and see how they look in your home with your lighting and decor. It probably just boils down to personal preference since I've paired these two up before and they look great. But like I said, I'd have Sea Salt stand out more.

Good luck!

    1. Hi Kate,
I am a Decorator/Color Specialist and work for Sherwin Williams in Enfield, CT - so here are my 2 cents. Since Sea Salt is a blue-green, a better gray would be Agreeable Gray (swatch F in the grays) because it is a yellow-orange (B-G and Y-O being two of the three legs of a triadic color scheme). If you're looking for a third color in furnishings, accessories or wall color, check out red-violet Swatches D, 1 or for a pop of R-V check out Swatch 41 - another R-V.

    2. Agreed - Agreeable Gray look beautiful with Sea Salt - depending on her light of course.

      THanks Jan for commenting here!

  2. Donna!
Thanks so much for your feedback. I definitely want to use sea salt in my kitchen! The color you paired with sea salt looks like sherwin Williams elder white. I also like sherwin Williams sedate gray and sherwin williams agreeable gray. What do you think of those colors? I live in a split level home and I have a very open floor plan where you can see the kitchen and the living room from the front door. I have dark brown furniture in my living room, kitchen and kitchen cabinets. Would the grey go nicely with the dark brown furniture?
    Thank you! Kate

    1. Agreeable Gray is a good choice and will have enough pigment in it to show - if you go too light, it'll just wash. For best results - paint a few out and see how they look in the lighting in your kitchen. Let me know what you choose :-)

  3. Donna & Jan- Thank you so much for your help!!! You are lifesavers!!!! I actually grabbed a sample of the sherwin williams collinade gray, but found that to be a little too dark. I'm going to grab a sample of the sherwin williams aggreeable gray tomorrow. I will let you know how it looks on the walls. Because I have the chocolate brown leather furniture, I will try and find some pillows that have the red-violet colors like Jan mentioned above. Does that sound good? :-) Thank you! Thank you! Kate

What about pairing SW Destiny with Sea Salt in adjacent room?

  5. How about sea salt walls with white ceiling, cherry floors, dark brown furniture and Tupeto Tree (olive) and Nervy Hue (Citron) accents?
