Exterior Color For Your Home

Timberstone Home
Some homeowners have HOA's and very tight restrictions on the colors that you're able to choose for the exterior of your home. If you had the chance to repaint your home, what color scheme would you like?

Colonial Revival?

Arts & Crafts?

Victorian?

Modern?

Coastal?

Classic Red Door?

Traditional?

I don't know if I'd be able to choose just three colors for my home. They're ALL so beautiful! Fortunately the home I moved into has a very similar color scheme to the Traditional one shown above. It's nice because I can choose any flowers as accent colors and it'll always match my house. I like the shades of gray for that reason.

The only thing I changed is the accent color. Instead of using black (one of the very few colors I do NOT like) I used Antique Burgundy, which is like a dark eggplant color. This is one of my favorite colors for a front door. Why? Because from a distance it looks black which is HOA compliant and when the sun shines on it you can see a shade of dark purple which looks amazing with gray. Also - as far as I know, I'm the only one that has this color on the front door and that make me happy!

All these color schemes are from the exterior color collections of Sherwin Williams. Which one will be right for you?

  1. Nice accent color. Very unique. I like colors that appear one color during the day and another at night. Something you can't ever seem to pinpoint. I like that traditional scheme too. Gray is always good on an exterior.
