Now that's a tough question. I often thought about it. With all the colors to choose from, which one would I choose if I had to do it all over again? Why did I go with a black and white wedding anyway? Was it a safe choice?
I always liked red but would everyone look good in red? Would it clash with my highlights? Red is out.
Green is a favorite color of mine but it just seemed too Christmassy for summertime. Green is out.
Would I dare try a blue? I never feel comfortable in any shade of blue. I like it as a wall color but would never wear it - that's odd. What about one of the new trendy blues? Would the trend be over by the time the wedding comes and then I have an “old trend” dress?
Or how about a fun, exciting girly girl color? Perhaps not,my brides maids would kill me.
The classic color scheme of black and white, opposites on the color wheel. Clean, simple, formal, elegant black and white. From my white calla lilly boutique, to the black and white balloons suspended at various levels in the air and even the white wedding cake with tiny black silk roses surrounded with black pearls . . . I wouldn't change a thing!
In the life of a Color Specialist there is time for color and there is time for black and white. August 5th, 1990 was time for black and white and it was beautiful!

Love the picture! It's awesome.
ReplyDeleteWe got married in '95 and I carried casablanca lilies, roses and other stuff. All my bridesmaid's bouquets were mostly stargazer lilies - their dresses were a super dark cranberry. Both moms wore jewel-toned dresses. My mom cobalt, his mom deep plum. I still remember it and I have to say no regrets. Liked it then and still like it now. Feel the same way about my husband too! Good thing, huh? Fun post, Donna!
I loved the color that I had...royal blue, I now think I would put some awesome shade of orange with it instead of baby blue (1985). Hope you have a wonderful day:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Linda, royal blue is a great color choice too! I wore it at my sister in laws wedding. She had a nautical them since we were on boat that sailed by Miss Liberty in Manhattan. It was a gorgeous dress and a beautiful wedding.
ReplyDeleteLori - LoL, maybe I should do a post about the husbands to see if they had any input about the colors of their own wedding. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun comment, funcolors!
I don't know about the colors...I would absolutely redo the horrid dress.
ReplyDeleteMonochromatic color scheme is very classic wedding suit... Love it :)
ReplyDeleteI got married in the 70's and our colors were brown, orange and yellow. (And we all sewed our own dresses.)
ReplyDeleteI am never drawn to brown or orange. Don't know where that came from. . . I just wanted to marry my sweet husband, and didn't care what our colors were. :). I cared a lot about the colors in our home, though. Funny eh?
Fondly,
Glenda
