Pick a color for the Color Specialist

If you have been following any color blogs, if you're reading this then answer should be yes, then you've seen it a 1,000's already  - on how color makes us feel. Just to recap, color can make us happy, sad, energized, relaxed - well, you get the idea.

The reason I'm bringing this up again is to stress that choosing the right color, will make a huge impact on the way we feel. Now you've heard it 1,001 times. Here's what I mean. Tomorrow, I'm getting a professional portrait taken and the dilemma is, what color shirt should I wear? It's ironic because I can envision an entire color scheme for a client within 10 minutes of seeing their home but when it comes to choosing a color that involves me - the brakes are on!

If I don't choose the right color, I'm not going to feel right. If I don't feel right, I won't look  good and if I don't look good, my photograph will be all in vain. Please help!

I guess being a Color Specialist, I'm too critical of my own color choices. I remember when I lived in Pittsburgh it took me 2 weeks to choose a color for my dining room. Granted they were all amazing colors if I do say so but the trouble was just picking “the one”. How do you choose just one color when there are millions of fabulous colors? Anyway, going back to my dilemma, what color blouse should I wear to my photo shoot tomorrow?

(blouses are color suggestions only)

Whew! Can't I just choose a color scheme for a 4,000 square foot home now? It would be so much easier!!

I've decided on a color but what color do you think would be best for me? There is a picture of me on this blog (soon to be updated) if you want to reference my coloring.

Pick me a winner!!!

  1. I like the green, not only for the color but the detailed bodice

the blue, definitely, the neckline is perfect (add a necklace) and the color will be a perfect with your haircolor.

  3. Pam - a green blouse is still a possiblity but not the color I chose.

Anonymous - although blue is the trend color now, it's not the one for me!

Thank you. I'll post my answer tomorrow, hopefully with the new picture.

  4. With your hair color and skin tone...I would do the coral color....or I can see you in lighter shade of green or yellow...no blue or green, I would not wear those colors either:) Come check out my CHarlotte post, it is good!

I agree that with your skin tones and hair color the coral would be the best choice. If you could find the green blouse that is shown in a coral color, that would be perfect! fun details and great color

  6. This was a very interesting shoot. I brought 3 blouses with me, blue, coral and white. I'll have the new picture of me posted in about 2 days. It's a toss up between 2 of them.

Thanks so much for your feedback. They all make total sense but the final decision is actually up to the camera! You'll see!

    Thanks again - Donna :-)
