Many people go out and buy color samples from their local box store
I've been in homes and have seen up to 8 shades of green patches on the wall. How do you choose which little color swatch will be “the one”? This is not always an easy feat although it helps many people. If you paint the sample large enough, let's say a 3' x 3' patch and remove all other distracting accessories away, you can view this sample morning, noon and night and see it's true color through out the day. I would really try to limit your choices to 3 at the most. Sometimes when we have too many choices, it gets too overwhelming. It's like choosing a pair of jeans - do we want high rise, low rise, loose fit, classic fit - you get the picture.

Ultimately, if you are in dire need of color help, call in the pros. Call an expert to help you with your decision. A Color Specialist will “test drive” the color for you and when you see it in your home, you'll know it's the right color for you!

It's no question that colors have an influence of our mood and perception. As being synesthete I live a life in colors. Synesthesia means that I see colors when I see words and numbers.I transform this in paintings of names and birthdays.
ReplyDeleteI have painted canvases to help me choose paint colors. Each color gets its own canvas. I move it around the room at different times of day to see how it will look in the light. I can take it to the stores with me too when choosing fabrics, etc. to go with the room.
